    7:13 am
its 7:13 in the morning and I just came back from the best party i have been to in atleast 6 months.

The worst part of the party was when that guy who aparently is now party-stalking me was there. Yes its true, jean workmens bodysuit that looks like JD from le tigre is back. Thanks dagney... yea you... its your drunken ass that told him to get on my nuts the other night and after i politely gave him the shut-down through body-language you then preceeded to introduce him to me. The bad part about that is that... wait what am i saying there is absolutley no shed of good in that action since not only did i find out his name but i also found out he's sort of dinky in the head. yay. anyways he stalked me on the dancefloor all night and when i gave him the brush off too many times he decided it be best to introduce himself to me again. he says:

"Hey my name is --insert creepy guy name here 'cause i forgot"

me: "Yea, I know we've met already"

    JD: looks of dissapointment

me: looks of purging and walk right past him to corrie on dancefloor

The best part about this party was that it had meatty drama. There was the thing between two mutual friends (ex-coworker), there was Chevy's sexual assaulting (<--- like the pamphlet said every 1 and 3 in their lifetime), JD, The weird afro i'm wearing a very uncool t-shirt guy who I had to help up from the ground after he passed out on the dancefloor and then wouldn't drink the water i was giving him becasue "it's warm!," and ofcourse there was Jesse from Ohio, and finally the drama of the soundstystem cutting off.

Mid party when Jeff was on the tables and not really rocking the party I had the internal dillema of figuring out whether or not to go get my Records which were only 6 blocks away. Would the party still be jumping after i get back from retrieving them? Will the soundsystem keep up? Will the party get shut down?

After Mikey threw me down some scrilla for the cab I ran out to Haight and hailed a cab over to my new crib. A little drunk I chatted up the cabby asking him to wait outside my place and that I only had $10 for the whole trip, nothing more.

Thank god i organized my records into categories the other day otherwise I woulda been in my room organizing forever, thankfully I grabbed the rocking party pile and the oldies but goodies pile and some of the non-experimental electronica pile, threw them in a crate and ran for the door and antsy cab. On my way out the door beth yelled out where's the party to which i told her the wrong address opened the door again and yelled in the right address, closed the door again and ran for the cab.

Jeff is a much nicer Dj to work with that Erin. Erin has a greedyness to his table that Jeff dosen't. I mean all Djs want as much time on the deck that they can some people know when to give in and somepeople want to correct their mistakes. After Jeff threw an AWESOME set and then after innergasming the room it cleared out and he let me on. I threw a phat ass set. Primal Scream's - Rocks was the first song i put on and it worked, i think that song will always work. I rocked the scissor sisters, the bee gees, the rogers sisters (song: zero point) and some other shizzie. The party rocked on until 5ish. I ended up sticking around and cleaning and mopping their house. Jeff is definitley gonna spin rocksoff, he's good.

and the song of the night was a Journey single which had the dancfloor holding up a guy crowd-surf style. I tried to yell at Jeff to let look up and see what madness he had created but he didn't know until I told him later.

Now I am stoned and took a scroching (to kill the herpes) hot bath and its watched to sunrise. To sleep or not to sleep tis the question.

Once again... go out and get the album: M83 - Dead cities....

Ok so we got to 51 Buckingham just in time to miss the Broken Spindles but we won't be missing them tommorow. I got an Anticon t-shirt and Broken Spindles shirt nonetheless.

The other night me, [info]detached_chick, and J-dizzle went to a show Brian recogmmended. It was my first "underground" indie show in LA before. Saw an amazing band called one arm radio (sleepy dreamy music with violins beats, beautiful male vocals and guitars. The tracks are not new stylistically but executed perfectly. The vinyl rocks cause its gray and marbled.

Going back to SF just in time.

So far I have had some great times here. Saw the Thermals (orgasmically good), saw Sonic Youth (the show had many extra benefits like a contact at World of Wonder productions!), saw Jesse Deluxe 2X(my new favorite band jessedeluxe.com, check them out live you losers!).

Klok's record release party is going to be off the hook! Gangsta Gangsta get off my turf!

Can wait to go back to SF and make mix tapes with all the new music I have. 1 is going to Ian the other to Chad the other to LA peeps! Have all sorts of new music for Thea's (I misssss you!) working life. Can't wait to go house shopping with all my homies.
The food in LA is super gross, can't wait for a mission burrito and some grilled cheeses!

P.s. all my peeps in sf I'm bringing back some lingo to y'all so get ready to get served.... (lotsa ghetto slang, nigga'!)
P.s. I'm throwing a party as soon as I get back and am gonna spin with my 20 new rekids!

I love how the best things that arrive on my doorstep always have to become forcably temporary. First it's Alaska now its Riverside. Oh well, it will make for interesting traveling when I decide to become a wandering-nomad.

    From Margaret Cho's Blog.....

What is heaven like Elliott Smith? I have been listening to your records since I got home this morning and I found out that you died. Did you get to meet Him right away? I bet they moved you to the front of the line. Is God nice? Do you feel better? Your songs were like the thoughts that rushed through my head all the time, this bittersweet dark rainy loveliness that wouldn't leave me, and I never wanted them to leave me, but sometimes it was sad, and sadness is kind of my religion, and I worshipped you because you weren't afraid to show it. I cannot believe that your soft voice is now silent and there is only these Kill Rock Stars cds left, that swirly Figure 8 album cover, looking like it was lifted from that Silverlake storefront, all your songs, the perfect lyrical accompaniment to my own personal loneliness to remember you by. I wish I had told you how much your music meant to me, to so many many people. There was a bunch of times I could have said it, when I saw you hanging out at the back of Largo and you with your vintage tee and rust cords and All Stars, but I got scared that you wouldn't like me, and I never said anything. A handful of times I saw you in New York, walking fast in the East Village, but it was like you were surrounded by a light that held you up above the street and you didn't touch the ground but floated up above just an inch or so that you were there but not there. I could see you but you couldn't see me.

You were supposed to save pop music. Remember that LA Weekly cover? Your face on the front, looking scared and beautiful, and I am sorry, so so so very sorry that you are gone. What happened? I guess it doesn't matter now and nothing does really. I just feel sorry and bad that we couldn't do anything to help. That all the people that loved you really didn't make much of a difference. That our love wasn't enough, or didn't reach you, or put you off, that you were unhappy anyway. But maybe your unhappiness was what we loved about you, so that our love was a constant reminder of how much unhappiness you had. I understand. We were selfish then, and for that I am angry for you. Mad for you. Sad for you. Loving you from here on the earth where things aren't so great, not at all, but fuck you made things a lot better and now that you are not here we just all have to act like life goes on and there goes another rock star and its better to burn out instead of fade away and whatever the fuck - whatever the fuck. All I can say is that I am crying as I write this, as I listen to your secretly sorry voice on Either/Or and I am wondering if you are hovering in the air above your house, watching the grief stricken fans and old friends walking wounded trying to understand where you went, why you went. If they can reach you now, with their thoughts, their hearts, their love. Can you see them? Does it make anything better? A whole shitload of hipsters are crying right now, hiding behind their ironic 70s sunglasses and vintage western snap front shirts. Legions of girls with scars from cutting themselves and dyed black hair are lighting candles and contemplating joining you today. Thirtysomething dudes with dirty shag haircuts are shaking their heads, looking down at their big jokey belt buckles, thinking about having a beer before the sun goes down, because it isn't a good day for any of us, because you aren't here to represent.

One time I was in Portland on tour, an early morning before I was about to leave for home and I walked into a bagel shop. You were there, not in person, but your record was playing. The sleepy, baby cute hippie kid behind the counter was singing along to you, quiet just like you, and he knew every word. There was another raggedy girl cleaning up tables behind me, and she was singing too. Then this other kid came into the shop, and waited in line, and he was singing - as if on cue, a little off key, but almost in harmony. Pretty soon, so was I. But we were all in our own private worlds, our voices barely audible, singing only for ourselves. Were you singing for yourself? I hope so. I hope that you could love your music like it was loved by everyone else.

Goodbye gentle soul. Goodnight. How sorry I am to see you go. But you were maybe too beautiful for this world. So beautiful that it hurt to be in it. I hope that you are not hurting anymore. I hope everything is good wherever you are. I hope that you are happy. Everything reminds me of you.

Ok y'all. You know I got the music taste so heed my words:

Out Hud's album S.T.R.E.E.T. DAD is the SHIT!

It's time for my sister [info]mspunkrockstar to go check them out! And don't do your usual hear my recommendation and then 2 months later call me telling me about how much you love them. Borrow it this week or get it from someone.

My new music has been all about writing papers, I need music that not only insn't abrasive but gets my attention but doesn't pull it from concentration...

    Good Writing Music:
-American Analog Set: either Promise of Love or Know By Heart
-Stereolab: Cobra and Phases Group Play V
    -Out Hud: S.T.R.E.E.T. Dad
-Books On Tape: Put Down Your Laptops
-Spacer: Beamer <--- Got it for 1.95!
    -Dabyre: One/Three

really its melodic electronic thats the best, but less House more IDM or Trancey
and especially with soft vocals or better yet none at all!

Alrighty gotta go to class now.

so i am writing a paper on how the misinterpretation of the bible led to the death of both Moscone and Harvey Milk and check this out, something they never mention in the documentary: Times of Harvey Milk...

Connecticut was the next state to repeal its sodomy law in 1971 in a modernization of the penal code. Twenty-one other states followed suit. Gay activists had little or no involvement with most of these repeals. In fact, many of the states that repealed their laws are just beginning to form organizations that can lobby effectively for their rights.
Exceptions that trend came from California, Minnesota, New York and DC. Gay Activists in these places began explicit gay rights campaigns to repeal their sodomy laws. California was the only one of these states to sucessfully repeal its law prior to 1980.

California’s sodomy repeal effort began in 1969 with urging from Morris Kight, Rev. Troy Perry and others. The repeal bill was introduced to the California legislature starting in 1969 by Assemblyman Willie Brown, and every year afterwards until its passage in 1975. In 1975, the liberal Democratic state Senate Majority Leader, George Moscone — running for Mayor of San Francisco — twisted many arms for its passage. The Senate deadlocked on a 20-20 vote, Moscone locked the chamber doors, until Lieutenant Governor Merv Dymallyin could fly back from Denver and cast the tie-breaking vote. It was signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown.

Moscone’s efforts won the support of the large gay population of San Francisco and Moscone beat Diane Feinstein in the primary, and edged out city superintendent John Barbagelata to become the first liberal mayor of San Francisco. Moscone was later assisnated by former supervisor Dan White along with the first gay supervisor, Harvey Milk. Brown and Feinstein later became Mayors and Feinstein is currently a US Senator from California.

Not only did Moscony rock... but hello, why did White kill him? lemme see?

So on Wednesday a certain someone gets to go to a certain something without me. Although it is without me by my out deciding I still feel cheated and therefore have a request from this person in trade for the delivering of a certain book that will happen shortly. This certain someone needs to get all of her copied tapes of that certain someone and giving them to our mutual parental advisor and ask her to send me these tapes so that I may copy them for my own personal enjoyment. In return I will be satisfied for certain celebratory requirements not yet met and I will feel all the more inclined to send that book in returned favor. The tapes will be returned in a timely fashion and taken care of. That is all.

This Lj entry will self destruct in 5. 4. 3.
